WWE announces Uncle Howdys in-ring debut against 38-year-old star on next weeks Raw

Wyatt Sicks has done nothing but wreak havoc since their debut on Raw. One of their prime targets has been Chad Gable, who betrayed them and once called them family. After weeks of tussling between the two groups, the most anticipated match is about to take place next week. The 2012 Olympian will face Uncle Howdy in a singles match on the upcoming episode of Raw.

Before Maxxine Dupri and Ivy Nile could begin their match on the latest episode of Raw, the arena was filled with the eerie sounds of Wyatt Sicks’ theme song. Chad Gable, Nile, and the Creed Brothers found themselves surrounded on all sides by members of Wyatt Sicks. Thankfully, the 27-year-old managed to escape to the backstage area, avoiding the ominous group’s attack.

The segment concluded with Uncle Howdy delivering the final blow, hitting the American-made leader with a Sister Abigail. Wyatt Sicks represents a story of lost superstars who failed to make an impact and were forgotten by the fans. However, Howdy rallied them and gave them a new purpose: to remind everyone of their identity as a formidable group.

During the August 5 episode of Raw, Wyatt Sicks made a powerful debut with Erick Rowan, Dexter Lumis, and Joe Gacy stepping into the ring for the first time. They decisively overcame Gable and the Creed Brothers, showcasing their strength and skill. The upcoming singles match between Howdy and Gable is set to be a pivotal moment, as it will determine which faction stands superior.

Chad Gable believes he is at the peak of his career thanks to the heel-turn

When Chad Gable transformed from a babyface, who wanted to win a title for his daughter, into a heel, it shocked many fans. He turned on Sami Zayn by attacking him immediately after losing the Intercontinental Title match following WrestleMania XL. Although he is receiving a lot of heat from fans due to his bully character, he has said it was one of the best things that happened to him.

While speaking with Chris Van Vliet on The Insight, the 38-year-old star expressed gratitude for how significant the heel turn was for him. Although Gable admitted he loved the dynamics between himself and the Alpha Academy members, he noted that while his face run allowed him to connect well with the audience, the heel turn forced fans to take him seriously.

I feel like the heel turn did wonders for me. The Alpha Academy stuff was going great, but I'm a realist and I'm also like a long-term thinker. The face turn allowed me to get my foot in the door with the audience... the heel turn to go, 'Wow we can maybe take this guy more seriously now.'

What’s interesting is that it was Gable’s idea to turn heel to shake things up and prove himself to the fans. Given the stage the 38-year-old star is at right now, it looks like the risk has definitely paid off. After a lot of struggle, the former tag team champion has become one of the most reliable wrestlers in WWE.
