WATCH: Taylor Swift sings Friends in Low Places alongside stadium as Chiefs dominate Dolphins

August 2024 · 2 minute read

Taylor Swift has religiously appeared in almost every Kansas City Chiefs game this season to support her boyfriend Travis Kelce. Even the extreme cold weather in Missouri wasn’t able to stop her from attending the Chiefs wild card game against the Miami Dolphins on Saturday night at Arrowhead.

Swift came wearing a Kelce-inspired jacket, which was a gift from a friend. The cold did bother her at the end of the game because the window in her VIP suit kept getting blurry because of all the chill. But it wasn’t enough to keep her bound to the seats as she celebrated every Chiefs move throughout the night.

But the highlight of the 34-year-old pop icon’s outing was when she sang ‘Friends in Low Places’ by Garth Brooks late in the fourth quarter as the Chiefs led the Dolphins 26-7. The NBC’s Peacock camera panned towards her as she was moving side to side with the song, vibing with the tune.

Taylor Swift left Arrowhead with Travis Kelce

The game finished with the Chiefs winning yet another playoff game. This was quarterback Patrick Mahomes‘ 12th win in the postseason since his first appearance at this stage. He is now only second behind Tom Brady in the home playoff wins.

After all the congratulations, hugs, and victory chanting, the dust settled inside the Arrowhead stadium. Swift was seen leaving with Kelce. They weren’t alone, as Mahomes and his wife, Brittany, accompanied them on their way out.

Swift has created a special bond with Brittany. Both recently went on a night out with close friends. Even before that, their growing relationship oozed out during Chiefs games—through Taylor playing with Bronze—through practicing secret handshakes with Brittany.

It will be interesting to find out where the celebrity couples went to celebrate this time. More than likely, it’s a warm and cozy place to get away from the snowy winter of the Midwest.

Contrary to popular myth, Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift knew each other before her first appearance at a Chiefs game. The star-tight end in an episode of his podcast ‘New Heights’ with brother Jason Kelce revealed having attempted a meet-up with Swift during her ERAS Tour concert at GEHA Field. However, he wasn’t able to get the chance on that occasion. But the Grammy winner later, in an interview with the Times Magazine, said they met afterward.
