Kathryn Leigh Scott is an American television and film actress, and writer. She is known for her roles on the dark soap opera Dark Shadows.

Kathryn was the daughter of Hilda Sophie and Ole Andreasen Kringstad. Her father was a Norwegian emigrant, from Kringstad, Molde, Møre og Romsdal. Her mother was born in Minnesota, to Norwegian parents, who moved to the U.S. in 1905.

Kathryn’s paternal grandfather was Andreas Olausen Kringstad (the son of Olaus Andreasson Tverli and Christine Oline Tronsdatter Julbø). Olaus was the son of Andreas Olsen Toresgrård Tverli and Synnøve Olsdatter Bringslid. Christine was the daughter of Tron Tronsen Julbø and Elin Iversdatter Orset.

Kathryn’s paternal grandmother was Martha Olsdatter Gjermundnes (the daughter of Ole Knudsen Gjermundnes and Anna Olsdatter Strømme). Ole was the son of Knut Justsson Gjermundnes and Marit Olsdatter Skorgen. Anna was the daughter of Ole Andersen Strømme and Beret/Brith Knudsdatter.

Kathryn’s maternal grandfather was Ole Hermansen Karlsgodt (the son of Hermand Olsen Karlsgodt). Ole was born in Haltdalen, Sør-Trøndelag County. Hermand was the son of Ola Hermannson Karlsgodt and Marit Olsdotter Leistrudbakken.

Kathryn’s maternal grandmother was Martha Ovidie Olsen (the daughter of Martin Olsen and Syverine Olsdatter). Martha was born in Bagn, Sør-Aurdal, Oppland County. Martin was the son of Ole Jensen Hejernæs and Agnethe Andersdatter. Syverine was the daughter of Ole Olsen Veens-Vangen and B. Korsøegaardseide.
