Twitch sensation Imane ‘Pokimane’ Anys recently talked about the future of streaming community as she seemed worried about the AI (Artificial intelligence) streamers capturing the industry slowly. Apparently, these computer-generated streamers can become the replacement for humans due to their ability to interact with the chat.
Imane was having her Just Chatting session on her recent livestream when the chat wanted to know something from her. She told she was open to questions and realized that it will almost make her a Chat GPT, “what if someday we have streamers that evolve from Chat GPT”?, she presented this question while further explaining how to chat GPT works.
Chat GPT is an AI software that answers the questions like Google but with human qualities. Pokimane opined that it is a very powerful AI, “it’s kind of freaky, it’s kind of scary to be honest”, she claimed while explaining that people can just ask the AI to be a streamer as it answers all the questions.
She provided the example of modern day VTubers, “some day they could probably make a VTuber model and then program it to be an AI streamer”. Pokimane explained that the chat can ask her to be a bubbly personality and the AI will be able to copy the personality by grabbing all the sayings and typical responses from the internet. On the flip side, she stated that AI streamers might not be that advanced.
AI streamer Neuro Sama is the perfect example for Pokimane’s prediction
Pokimane might be making an indirect reference to Neuro Sama, when she mentioned that AI streamers could capture the whole market in near future. For those unaware about Neuro Sama, she is an AI streamer that took Twitch by storm recently as she is able to interact with the chat as a regular streamer, as well as stream video games.
Not much is known about the person who operates the AI streamer, but recently, Neuro Sama came under hot waters for some controversial remarks on the platform. She stands banned on the platform at this moment, for her denial of the holocaust as well as some other comments that were apparently offensive.

However, this fact can also not be denied that such streamers can pose a threat to the existing streamers as they can interact with the audience just as other broadcasters.

Most of her fans claimed that there is a high chance that AI streamers could take over the community as streamers are quite predictable and AI bot can be programmed in that way only to provide responses.
Pokimane once tried being a VTuber as she shared with her viewers, her VTuber avatar, but she faced tremendous backlash from her community that compelled her to do away with it.
