Genshin Impact Cloud Retainer To Be Introduced As Xianyun In Update 4.4

August 2024 · 3 minute read

Recently, HoYoverse has officially released the upcoming characters in update 4.4. For those unknown, the formerly known Cloud Retainer is now called Xianyun as she becomes playable. Besides, the lion dance boy will also join the roster and his name is Ga Ming. Let's see what to expect from Xianyun Genshin Impact and Ga Ming.

Xianyun Genshin Impact: Element, release date, skillset

After a long time of speculation, Cloud Retainer is now on the official lineup of playable characters. She is now called Xianyun and will be a 5-star character arriving in the Lantern Rite patch and Chenyu Vale in Genshin Impact 4.4.

Regarding other characters' views of her, the description goes:

"Everyone has something to say about Xianyun: "That tall woman with the updone hair," "that bespectacled artisan," or perhaps "that talkative new neighbor." They all say different things, but together they paint a picture of the impression she leaves — of someone who's witty, chatty, warm-hearted, and easy to get along with."

Reliable sources from the drip market have confirmed that she will have Anemo vision. This sets her apart from her disciples - Shenhe and Ganyu who wield Cryo Visions. While her splash art doesn't showcase the vision, it's likely that she discreetly carries it on her back.

As per insights from the game community, Cloud Retainer may wield Catalyst. If the rumors are true, the name of her unique weapon will be "Echo of the Crane's Call."

The source described that the Catalyst has a fan-shaped structure with a bird-like detail adorning its peak. Noteworthy details include feathers on the right side, three cloud-like patterns in the middle, and two spherical pendants flanking the weapon on either side.

Genshin Impact drip marketing 4.4 reveals a new character named Gaming

With update 4.4 centering around the Lantern Rite Festival, HoYoverse should unveil two characters hailing from Liyue. In this update, Cloud Retainer/Xianyun takes the spotlight as a 5-star unit. Meanwhile, Gaming steps into the scene as a 4-star character mastering the Pyro element.

Interestingly, Gaming has managed to stay under the radar in terms of mentions from other in-game characters, making his reveal a delightful surprise ahead of the official release. Fans called him the lion dance boy.

HoYoverse shared this official description of Gaming:

"He sees and hears everything, as if he had the eyes of a hawk and the ears of a fox, like some kind of mythical beast. Fighting tooth and nail, he drove away bandits and ruffians like devils with all the auspicious momentum of the suanni."

Genshin Impact community is on standby, eagerly waiting for the next few days when his skill animations and gameplay footage finally make their appearance on the internet.
